Program Objectives (Pharm.D.)

The Pharm.D. curriculum aims to develop competent, ethical, and globally aligned pharmacy professionals by:

  • Providing a strong foundation in scientific and clinical knowledge to support rational drug use, patient safety, and pharmaceutical care.
  • Preparing graduates for industrial pharmacy through applied understanding of GMP, quality control, and pharmaceutical production systems.
  • Building competencies in research, academia, and evidence-based medicine, promoting lifelong contributions to pharmaceutical sciences.
  • Enhancing communication, documentation, and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration within healthcare teams and public health engagement.
  • Integrating structured internships and experiential learning across clinical, hospital, community, and industrial settings.
  • Ensuring awareness of regulatory frameworks, including WTO/TRIPS, IP laws, and pharmaceutical ethics.
  • Expanding content in clinical pharmacy, including OTC services, patient counseling, and therapeutic drug monitoring, in line with global Pharm.D. trends.
  • Encouraging lifelong learning through continuous curricular updates reflecting national policies and international standards.
  • Equipping graduates to:
  • O Identify and resolve drug-related problems and adverse reactions.
    O Manage drug-drug, drug-food, and drug-disease interactions.
    O Deliver evidence-based community pharmacy services.
  • Promoting uniform credit allocation between theoretical and practical modules for curricular coherence.
  • Emphasizing applied, outcome-based learning to foster analytical thinking, clinical judgment, and problem-solving abilities.
